Normalized Alloy Steel Round Bars
Due to FLEXOR®'S unique chemistry and high amount of carbide forming alloy FLEXOR® attains excellent tensile and yield strength while in the normalized condition. Typically this hardness range is 28-32 HRC. Some customers use FLEXOR® in this condition even after machining as it provides a homogeneous hardness from surface to core.
It is important to note that FLEXOR® does not need to be annealed prior to quench and tempering when higher mechanical properties are preferred. The normalized microstructure is already easy to machine with either high speed or carbide cutting tools and will be stable throughout any additional processing.
FLEXOR® Specifications
- Our Hot Rolled Rounds (Normalized) can be supplied in random lengths between 12-19' in length.
- FLEXOR® rounds can also be supplied in the De-Carb Free condition upon request including rough turned, and ground and polished.
Comparing FLEXOR® to Other Steel Alloys
FLEXOR® is a unique steel which is neither a standard alloy steel nor a standard tool steel, though it is often mistaken for both. FLEXOR®'S unique chemistry allows it to be used in thousands of applications often as a superior alternative to other alloy or tool steels.
